Pui Kiu International Kindergarten is located in the Sha Tin district of Hong Kong, adhering to the design philosophy of "child-centered, integrating education and fun." The aim is to create a safe, comfortable, and exploratory educational environment that ignites children's curiosity and creativity, allowing them to learn and grow joyfully while laying a solid foundation for their future development.

 

As designers, we understand the significance of kindergartens as crucial growth spaces for children outside their homes. In this project, we strive to blend educational functionality with aesthetic appeal. From the children's perspective, we utilize vibrant colors, soft lines, and diverse elements to create a space that aligns with young children's psychological characteristics while meeting educational needs. We also pay close attention to details and safety, enabling children to express their nature and freely explore the world.

 

Clients expect the kindergarten to present an international and diverse atmosphere that balances educational and entertainment aspects. They hope for a well-planned layout that reasonably divides different functional areas while ensuring independence and connectivity between them. Emphasis is placed on comfort, lighting, and ventilation in the indoor environment, with a requirement for eco-friendly, non-toxic materials to safeguard children's health. Additionally, they wish to incorporate unique elements that highlight the kindergarten's distinctive style.

 

The lobby features warm beige and wood tones, creating a cozy atmosphere. The reception desk has a simple yet flowing design made from natural wood and complemented by soft lighting for an inviting feel. A large display area on the walls showcases the kindergarten's educational philosophy, special programs, and memorable moments of the children. Nearby storage lockers provide convenience for parents and children.

 

The reading room features large bookshelves and an arc-shaped reading bench, with the ceiling designed to resemble clouds, creating a comfortable reading environment.

 

 

The restroom is designed with young children's needs in mind, featuring toilets and sinks at appropriate heights for their use, along with playful cartoon designs. The corridors emphasize safety and fun, with walls decorated in geometric patterns, while the classroom walls display children's artwork and cultural theme images.

 

Through this thoughtful design approach, Pui Kiu International Kindergarten will become a vibrant and educationally meaningful growth paradise in Sha Tin, accompanying children through memorable childhood experiences.
